Sunrise Develops Largest Community Solar Project in Illinois

Wayzata, MN – June 23, 2020—Sunrise Energy Ventures, a Minnesota-based solar development company, has the developed largest community solar project in Illinois to date.

In June, Summit Ridge Energy (SRE) completed the 2.7-MW community solar farm that Sunrise Energy Ventures had developed and sold to SRE. The project is located in Fulton County, Illinois and is the first community solar program under the IPA Adjustable Block Program in the Ameren Illinois service territory.

Sunrise Energy Ventures worked with local residents and zoning authorities to ensure a successful development that benefits the local community. This is the first of many projects that they have been developing in Illinois.
